The 2026 Annual Conference of the International Lawyers Network (ILN) recently concluded in Dublin, with one of the highest levels of participation from member firms and professionals in recent years.
EXP Legal attended the conference with Senior Partner Antonello Corrado and Partner Stefano Rossi, alongside colleagues from numerous jurisdictions.
Hosted by Irish law firm Mullany Walsh Maxwells, the conference combined business sessions with opportunities for discussion among network members, with a programme covering some of the issues currently having a direct impact on law firms and businesses.
These included artificial intelligence and the future of legal practice, addressed not only from the perspective of the tools available, but also in terms of law firm organisation, risk management, training and client service. Another session focused on international business and entrepreneurship, drawing on the experience of an Irish company pursuing international growth and exploring issues such as expansion into new markets, sustainability and the role of trusted advisers in supporting business development.
The programme also included a discussion on Ukraine, with particular attention to reconstruction and the legal and commercial needs of businesses operating in or connected with the country. These sessions were complemented by smaller practice-focused meetings involving, among others, Corporate, Litigation, Labour & Employment and Intellectual Property lawyers.
Beyond the individual topics discussed, the Dublin conference once again confirmed the importance of direct relationships between professionals within the network. One figure presented during the conference was particularly significant: 92% of ILN firms that had attended a conference in the previous three years were receiving referrals through the network.
For EXP Legal, being part of ILN means having direct relationships with independent law firms across numerous jurisdictions, which can be called upon whenever a client’s project or needs require local assistance. Personal relationships between professionals make this cooperation easier and, above all, allow firms to work together effectively on cross-border matters.
This is why events such as the Annual Conference are about much more than networking: they provide an opportunity to strengthen relationships built over time, meet new colleagues and create the basis for future collaboration.
A special thank you goes to Mullany Walsh Maxwells for the excellent organisation and the warm welcome extended to all participants during their time in Dublin.
